The Splinter Trail Shoe has an aggressive Vibram® sole, great for traction off the bike in muddy conditions. Lace closure system with two hook and loop security straps. Reinforced toe box and heel cup for long term durability as well as hard wearing synthetic suede and PU upper material. Features also include SPD compatible sole, heel loop for ease of fitting and reflective heel detail.

The shoe can be used with or with out cleats. (Cleats are not supplied). The toe is protected with two layers of armoured rubber, a great defence against rock strikes while cleated in. The sole is stiff to give good power transfer but with enough flex to ensure walking is comfortable and safe on rough terrain.

With its Vibram® tread it is easily able to take cleats but ensure they are recessed enough to make sure they are easy to walk in without the fear of slipping. This gives the shoe great appeal for touring and bikepackingand trail riding where the user is likely to encounter a variety of terrain both under tyre and foot.

Fantastic March 17, 2018

The best shoes I'll found in the last 10 years. I had to make an extra shim for the cleats to work with my pedals but I was expecting to need to do that from reading other reviews so it really wasn't a problem.

Great touring shoe March 5, 2017
Reviewer: Paul from London, London United Kingdom
I didn't pay attention to/notice the advice to select a size one above my normal size but these appear to fit in my normal size as long as I don't go overboard on the socks. May prove to be a problem I suppose if used with my winter sock set up but on a February 100km ride I was fine.
First impressions after that one ride is that these shoes are excellent quaity and should last a long time.

Well made, tough, stylish. I think they're going to last a long time. At the sale price, these are a real bargain.
